Hello my lovelies,
I'm going to get straight into the outfit because I will be rambling a little towards the end. So for my very last high school formal I wore a beige dress with lace detailing. The bottom and the straps were sheer, with more lace outlining the bottom of the dress. It was quite short but the added length made it a bit more appropriate. I do love how the straps were sheer, it made it less noticeable but way more practical so I didn't have to keep pulling up my dress every three seconds if it were strapless. I wore black heels with a gold zipper detail. They're a basic black, peep toe heel which basically goes with every outfit, honestly cannot go wrong.
For accessories I just wore a gold necklace with a ruby pendant. It's was quite simple but the pendant added a bit of colour to the dress and was small enough to still be delicate. I opted for no bracelets as I've been wearing the same burnt orange jade bracelet for a number of years and it's basically impossible to coordinate it with anything, so I've given up on trying to wear bracelets. However, I would've worn something gold and thin if I had a choice. Also didn't wear any earrings, just because my hair was down and I wanted quite a simplistic side sweep for the hair.
Okay, now for bit of life rambling. So this has been a pretty fantastic week for me, started it off with a cute early Christmas with my girlfriends (featured below hehe). The formal was fantastic, I got to see some of my close friends again and had a good laugh. I've never danced so much in my life, which is interesting because I use to never dance. It's been a tough year for me, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud of how far I've come. I feel a lot stronger, less dependent on people. I'm in love with my life and my friends and I'm really starting to enjoy myself. I'm so grateful for the people in my life and the things I get to share with them. My beautiful friends have especially helped me overcome so much and it's been such a wonderful journey becoming the person I am. I've learnt so much about myself, what I'm capable of and just how admirable I can be.
On a more of a novelty note, I won best dressed last night which was fun. Awesome way to end my year. I also passed my hazards today! (It's a computerised safety test for driving in Australia) so I'm going to go for my licence on my birthday next week. Honestly, I am so excited for everything the future holds.
