Backstreet Boys & Pods

Hello my lovelies,
I thought I'd make a quick post, considering I haven't been awfully active as of late. I just had the urge to write something about today, even if my outfit wasn't quite so dressy as it normally is. Originally I was going to go to a cute cafe in Carlton with two of my friends, which would have called for some serious fashion moments, but at the last minute that got canceled. So instead, Jane and I headed to a different cafe to get something to eat. We debated over the price of the food and how guilty we'd feel after (I was relatively guiltless, until I realised I was running out of fuel for my car..). I'm a pretty big foodie, and as much as I wanted to stick to the classics, I picked a salmon pastrami with corn fritters and poached eggs with this amazing lime aioli. It was definitely worth the $18 I had to spend on it.
We wandered to the local op shop, really into our little knick knacks and vintage pieces. I walked out with a bunch of CD's for my car. I got John Mayer's Room for Squares, which made me incredibly happy, and Jane insisted I get a Backstreet Boys CD. No, I don't know why I'm friends with her. However, I have to say as I pulled out of the carpark, eating Pods and blaring the cheesiest music with my best friend, that was a perfect moment, a moment where I was happy with the simple things in life that added up to wonderful memories.
We made a spontaneous coffee plan back on Kingsway with one of our girlfriends we hadn't seen in a while and I drank honey and lemon tea as I listened to some of my favourite people fuss and bitch. You become so grateful for the friends and the people in your life when you have real moments to spend with them. It's comforting to know even though we haven't seen her in a few months, we keep in contact and keep each other up to date on our lives.

I'm not wearing anything special, just a black tank top with black shorts and an oversized denim shirt (it was sort of cold at some point). Apologies, I was having a real lazy day so I wore thongs and put some chokers on just to make myself feel a tiny bit more dressed up. I did get some cute pieces yesterday: a low cut navy blue dress and a floral high necked top which I promise will appear soon. Just thought it might be worth blogging about my life for a bit of a change.

I have work in exactly an hour and I am not looking forward to it. All my favourite people are working though, so hopefully its a good shift. Will be back soon with more, next week there is a dinner gathering for my Japanese class and I will have an excuse to wear fake lashes and platform shoes again. Until then,

Amy.
