Hello my lovelies,
Apologies for neglecting this for so long, I've been swamped with uni preparations. Before I get into all that, I'm going to dive into my outfit breakdown. So yesterday night was one of my closest girlfriend's 18th (she's a baby) so of course I dressed up. I've been dying to wear this plunging navy blue dress that I got a few weeks back. Theres wire boning in the cups of the dress so they stay in place, which is pretty neat because I didn't want to spend the entire night pulling my dress back in place. It was a little chilly, so I paired it with a cream kimono. Unless you've been living under a rock, kimonos are pretty much a staple piece for summer. Personally, I like to wear it when I don't feel like showing so much skin, it's a bit of a cheat cover-up. The dress code was apparently casual, of course I really don't do casual, so I threw on some flats and left. I turned up and everyone was in heels, so if I wore this outfit properly I would have been in simple black heels or something elegant - no boots or spiked platforms for this dress - and I was dying to wear a wide brimmed black hat which would have topped off the entire outfit. Unfortunately, my misinterpretation of the dress code led to this - on the bright side my feet didn't ache - but it also highlights how different outfits can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the weather or how you're feeling.
Anyway, tomorrow uni starts and I've been pretty excited purely because of the people I've met so far. I was so afraid of not being able to make any friends, but it's been surprisingly easy. I'm really not looking forward to the early wake up calls however, but I guess I'll get use to it. I'll be hyped up on coffee and loud music all day. My brother also leaves for Japan tomorrow, I have no idea when he'll return but I do wish him all the best. He has one of those wandering hearts that can't be tamed and will forever be stubborn beyond reason. So I guess tomorrow is a pretty big day for a variety of reasons and yet another massive change for my parents. We'll see how I survive my first week at uni. Until next time,
Amy.
